This Friday night my mom, dad, and I went to Chef Geoff’s in Rockville. “Chef Geoff” owns several restaurants including Leah’s. I ordered the wedge salad to start and finished with their Gouda risotto balls (both appetizers). I wasn’t too hungry and find getting two appetizers can be just right. The salad had really great peppery, sweet bacon and I liked the risotto balls just fine – but I only ate one!
The reason I ate so light? I had a sugar crash at the mall about two hours earlier and needed a bite. My mom and I walked past Popeyes and I had a sudden urgent craving for it. Have you ever had a Popeyes biscuit when you were starving? You have to try it. It is THE best thing. I don’t even like biscuits much. The combo of the fries, chicken, biscuit, and blackened ranch sauce (I know I know, just go with it) is great.
I love nice restaurants with a variety of new culinary trends…but Popeyes was definitely the memorable meal of the day. No pics of Popeyes…I ate it too quickly!
Also the next morning my sweet friends drove 45 minutes with me to Frederick for Fractured Prune. I have been craving this beach staple all summer and finally got my hands on my fav flavor: strawberry shortcake. Fractured Prune has the best donuts I’ve ever had, and will definitely turn off any large generic glazed donut cravings in anyone’s future.
And I can’t forget the seared scallops dad made for my last supper. DELICIOUS.
